A Rundown on Nutrition Bars

A Rundown on Nutrition Bars

Maintaining a sensible eating pattern throughout life, combined with regular physical activity, can help a woman maintain a healthy weight with which she feels comfortable. This might seem easy to read, but with today's hush and rush of life, women have been left with a lesser time to think about their nutrition.

Result being an increasing use of ready-to-eat nutrition bars (Energy Bars, Protein Bars, Diet Bars, and Meal-Replacement Bars) to provide the body with much needed nutrition. The best part about these bars is the convenience -- after all, they're neat, they're small, and you can grab one during a work break.

Nutrition bars go by many names including:

• Meal-replacement bars- contain proportionally higher amounts of carbohydrates, proteins and fats.
• Energy bars- contain more carbohydrates,
• Protein bars- are simply higher in protein, and
• Diet or weight loss bars- claim to contain fewer carbohydrates.

(Bars may also include vitamins and minerals or other ingredients permitted only in dietary supplements, such as ephedra, and therefore must be labeled as supplements, rather than foods. Consumers should read labels carefully before using nutrition bars or offering them to children.)

Why men love to live on islands

Why men love to live on islands

From Robinson Crusoe to modern-day reality, some men love the idea of isolated islands. So what's the appeal of a solitary existence?
The papers are calling him the "Yorkshire Robinson Crusoe". But the difference between Brendon Grimshaw, an 86-year-old originally from Dewsbury, and Defoe's fictional castaway is that Grimshaw chose to live on his desert island.
And despite advancing years, Grimshaw has no plans to leave the 22 acres of forest and sand that he has called home since he bought it for £8,000 in 1962.
On Bing Maps: where is Moyenne island?
Moyenne, in the Seychelles, is surrounded by islands housing the luxurious retreats of billionaires and playboys. But Grimshaw is happy with a wooden hut and the company of the 120 giant turtles he looks after.
And he's not the first man to seek the solitude of a desert island hideaway. So why do some men love the lonely island life?
The romance of islands
The fact is, men do love an island, even if they don't intend to live on one. Recently newpapers reported the story of Piers Casimir-Mrowczynski, an IT teacher from Berkshire who snapped up a remote and deserted island off the west coast of Scotland as a final resting place for himself and his wife.
"I love the sea," said Casimir-Mrowczynski. "When I found the island just off the coast of Islay, it seemed ideal. The beauty of it is that there's not much there.
"The attraction was the wildlife and the beautiful setting, and the fact it is undeveloped."
All of which might seem a bit strange, given that the teacher will spend most of his time there, well, dead, but it just goes to show the appeal of islands. Particularly, perhaps, one just off a major Scotch-whisky producing island...

Tiny Fashion Tips For Tiny Women

Tiny Fashion Tips For Tiny Women

If you have a petite body shape, you already know that you need to make different choices about your fashion style. It's a fact of physics and fashion that petite and short women need to interpret style in ways that will accentuate parts of their body. In short, excuse the pun, short women want to make themselves look taller. And choosing the right style can actually achieve this this illusion.
Here are a few tricks to learn about creating that illusion:
You basic goal is to create the illusion of height. You desire to make yourself look taller than you really are. This means you need to learn how the clothes you wear impact on the length of your legs and your body. Creating the illusion is rather simple and the results can be dramatic.
Better without belts
Throw away your belts. Why? Because belts cut up your body into smaller pieces – top and bottom and what you really want is one long elongated body shape. Just stand in front of a mirror and look for yourself. Wear a large, heavy belt across your waist. What you will see is the top part of your body separated, so to speak, from the bottom part. This will only make you look tinier. Now, remove the belt. Already your body looks longer.
Color me with one color
Colors are great to create illusions with. There is one simple rule with colors. If you mix them by wearing one color on the top and another on the bottom, you'll get a similar effect to the belt effect. Your body will be divided into two parts. This will make you look shorter. If you want to achieve the illusion of height, the very best thing to do is to wear a monochromatic outfit. That means, simply chose one color and wear it from top to bottom.

Still wondering if you hate your job or not?

Still wondering if you hate your job or not?

Everyone complains about having the worst job. Whether it’s “working extra hours”, “working on the weekends”, “not getting paid enough”, or even “I slept with my boss, now I can’t face him anymore!”, anyone else has a better job than you do. But sometimes we stop to wonder if this is genuine hate or the regular hating everyone does. Here are 10 signs that will make that wondering stop!
1.You don't hear the alarm: when it takes you a whole hour and three snoozes just to get out of bed, admit it you don't want to go back there again. You’d rather stay home and do laundry instead of getting dressed and heading to work.
2.You hate your co-workers: and by hate I mean smile to their faces, joke around with them all day, but once you’re home you don't want to ever see them again! When they call you to go out on the weekend you pretend to have something more interesting to do (and that would probably be sleeping on the couch with a big bag of chips!).

Overcoming Stomach bloating with Yoga

Overcoming Stomach bloating with Yoga

Sugar alcohols are the primary reason for bloated lower stomach. The same can be said for carbonated beverages in general. The extra air in the drinks can contribute to extra air in the stomach, which causes an enlarged abdomen. Food allergies are another common culprit for bloating and indigestion, which can make your lower abdominal region "pouch" out.

Once you have analyzed the cause of stomach bloating the task lies ahead is of finding ways to overcome it. Yoga can to some extent offer you solution to the problem of stomach bloating.

Check out the exercises indicated and practice them regularly to overcome stomach bloating.

Back Stretch
Lie on your back and place your hands beneath your hips. Ease your hips and legs upward until your feet end up over your head. It's OK if your feet don't touch the floor as long as you're still getting a good stretch. Take long, deep breaths and hold the pose for 10 seconds. Move your head around while you're breathing to avoid neck cramping. Repeat 2-3 times. This position often releases some trapped air, which can be an instant relief when you're trying to reduce bloating.

10 Everyday Things that help you Diet Easily

10 Everyday Things that help you Diet Easily

Temptations surround us every day just to make our dieting harder. Whether it’s the chocolate TV ads, a new Haagen Dazs flavor, or freshly baked home-made cookies, resisting temptations gets harder by the minute. But despite all the temptations, we are surrounded by little things that help you stick to your diet plan and lose that extra weight. For example:
1. Your iPod: music makes you jog that extra mile. It helps you with those last 10 minutes of your work out and it motivates you to push yourself to the limit.
2.The TV: although eating infront of the TV isn’t really diet friendly but there are very encouraging TV shows you can watch that will inspire you to carry on like “The Biggest Loser” and “Oprah”.
3.Pals: if you show your friends how sincere you are this time, they’ll help you order next time you’re out with them. You can even tell your best friend to warn you when you’ve had too much to eat.
4.Your smart phone: BlackBerrys and iPhones are a way to distract you and keep you from munching on snacks all day. There are also smart phone apps you can download to calculate your calorie intake and to help you keep a diet diary.
5.The super market: yes! Despite having all the junk food one can imagine, the super market is actually the best place to make you feel full. When shopping at the supermarket, try to avoid the “junk aisles” and stock up on healthy fruits and vegetables then head to the cashier ASAP.
6.A good doctor: your doctor’s advice and diet plans are usually depressing, but with the right doctor he’ll know how to reward you every week. Look for a doctor with good rapport rather than shorter waiting lines. Express your feelings to your nutritionist and worries so they’ll fortify your plan with “happy food”.
